I know nothing about the NeXTStep front-end for GNU Emacs.  If version
2.1 of this front-end is based on GNU Emacs 18.58, there should be no
problem at all using it with Allegro CL 4.1, however modifications
will need to be made to the emacs-lisp interface in Allegro CL 3.1 to
make it work with an unmodified (by Franz) GNU Emacs.  I suggest
waiting for Allegro CL 4.1 and then try using the front end.
