Emacs init files

I noticed the files in <emacs>. My terminal is able to emulate VT52, VT100
VT131 and QVT103. Which is the best terminal-file combination to use
for EMACS. What needs to be done with the terminal-type.emacs and the
terminal-type.:ej files in that directory ? Shall I copy them to my own
directory ? Both of them ?
