Well, if my memory serves me correctly comparing a buffer with itself is
not implemented. Just offhand I'd say it might not be easily fixable,
but I'll look into making it give an error in that case. You can always
copy the buffer if you need to.
I'll gladly defer to anybody who wants to really make it work.
