I am sorry JONL, but your latest fix to whatever had
no effect whatsoever to the string bug; it happens at exactly
the same place as before. If you take a look at str:gcmarray
after doing:
NILE$$^S
NILAID^K
(load 'debug)
You will see that at lesat one (sometimes two) strings have
had a word bitten out of them (and replaced by zeros). IT
IS ALWAYS THE SAME ONE (at least the first one, which
always shows up). I and DCP ahve tried for hours trying
to find this bug and couldn't -- blech!
