Jonl, I don't like to see any reloads of files
as part of standard operating procedures for systemically supported
environments. Right now :MACLISP<SPACE><CR> (LOAD "GJC;ENV") gives
;Loading DEFMAX 91
;CAUTION! |forget-macromemos/||, A USER SUBR AT 126000, IS BEING REDEFINED
; AS A SUBR BY FASL FILE ((DSK LISP) DEFMAX FASL)
Its not nice to see the system complaining about itself
like that. Even though it happens quite often on this system I still
haven't gotten used to it, and in fact I cringe when it happens
because it brings to mind the thought "oh no, what new feature/bug has
been introduced?" (A somewhat unfair critique perhaps).
If we must hack maclisp, let's have a higher quality working
environment here. Take whatever steps are needed, it aught to save
time in the long run and make the game a whole lot more fun.
