It was frequently advertised by word of mouth in the lab, that hunks
were car/cdr-able. I know full well that they are and have had no reason
to doubt this functionality. I have a whole pile of code that depends on
them being so and I know that a number of off-Arpa people do too. Maclisp
documentation sucks in its currently released state. It is not fair for
you to claim that the lack of documentation is lack of contract.
