Apologies. I was trying to test a change to MACROEXPAND-1*M, and I was
using MULTIPLE-VALUE as a test case. Unfortunately, the spurious
error checking uses MACROEXPAND-1*M, which was indeed broken.
Were it not for this spurious error checking, I could have found
the bug a lot easier. I remain dubious that this suprious
error checking is ever useful in finding bugs....
