causes a .VAL 0; -- I would think something just a wee bit more forgiving
would be in order -- that's likely to be a common error with people. I'm
not suggesting anything DWIM-ish, maybe just
;ILLEGAL ARGUMENT SOMEWHERE OR OTHER - SSTATUS
or something like that -- if it typed out (QUOTE SPLICING) it would help a lot.
