For the hairy Macsyma symbol reaping stuff I need to be able to smash UUOs
in the UUOlinks areas. (Yes, I really do). It is really convenient to be
able to call LAPSETUP| from Lisp level to do this, rather than adding yet
another bunch of hand-coded Lap to do mere interfacing to code which already
exists in the Lisp system. I suppose I can put up with any changes to
LAPSETUP| as long as there still exists a flavor which says "smash the
ostensible UUO in this place".
