You must not have looked very carefully, since SPRIN1 was added in late
1979 and included in the table of changes at the top of the file. It
was also documented in LISP NEWS at that time, so you could have found
it out by searching that file for "grind" or "pretty-print". Or look
in the non-existant manual under "pretty printing".
It's really too bad one has to be a wizard to use MacLisp. Looking
at the code is one way wizards find features; searching LISP NEWS is
another you can add to your inventory of techniques.
