Do (PURCOPY '(X Y)) in a MACSYMA to get WRITE INTO READ-ONLY MEMORY.
PURCOPY should be a no-op as it once was if purification cannot be done.

In looking at this I find that it isn't PURCOPY that is dying, put the pure
consers.....this is related to other problems we are having with pure consers
attempting to cons into pure-space after purification has been done (they
attempt to write into newly purified pages!)....
This problem will be fixed along with the other purification problems when
we figure out the right thing to do.
