    Any use of dovector results in a call to the undefined GENTEMP.
    Debugging VECTOR isn't too easy either, since MAKE-VECTOR recurses
    infinitely when loaded interpretively.
Ok, I've put in #% in the places where the compiler would macroexpand
the apparently-self-referential calls;  but still you can use these
kinds of packages interpretively only in the compiler.
