There is some kind of bad interaction between
DEFVST and purification.
The file MAXTUL;MCL _UNDU_
contains a script file of the lossage encountered.
For a demo of the bug, try dumping out
a macsyma compilation environment, like so:
MAXTUL
CL
when it asks the question "(*PURE?)", reply T,
and then watch things load, until it bombs.

This problem should be fixed in the new EXTEND, in the new LISP. They should
be released shortly.
