In system 36.2, with microcode 683, on LISP Machine Six: The first time you get a ZMACS up the page has what happened during the boot on it: There is the disk label, and then the selection of the initial-lisp-listener displayed on top of the ZMACS buffer. Typing <clear screen> makes it go away.
