I was using a Lisp machine and AI was down.
I typed C-X C-W and before even giving me a minibuffer
it hung up trying to look at AI.
It should have waited to give me a chance to say "MC:"
as I had planned to.
Well, I tried saying (login 'rms 'mc)
(I had logged in before, at a time when AI was still up)
and again it barfed about not being able to get to AI.

What I finally had to do was disassemble some things to find
out about si:file-default-host.
