The unwind-protect in login was put in to solve a number of bugs of the
form "if I try to log in, and something goes wrong during the process,
and I abort out, then whenever I try to do anything it thinks I'm logged
in but nothing works because I didn't really get logged in." If anybody
takes out the unwind-protect, I suggest he worry about what to do about
such problems.
