In Release 4.1, System 222.186, Hardcopy 11.14, Zmail 74.43, LMFS 30.26,
site configuration 34, on Lisp Machine Apiary-1:
The 4.0 release notes claim [p. 109] that you can use a
ZWEI:STANDALONE-EDITOR-FRAME for prompting the user for editable input.

Then make a Lisp listener and run in it (SEND SEF ':EDIT)
