In ZWEI in Release 4.3, LMFS 30.42, site configuration 33, 
on Lisp Machine Apiary-2:

I just tried to use M-X Flush Lines on a Dired buffer and found out
that Dired buffers are "Read-Only".

This means I am unable to use editor commands to, for example, prune
the display down to the files I want to work with.  Being able to edit
both the presentation and object(s) being presented is one of the most
powerful ideas in EMACS.

How do I get this functionality back when using ZWEI?
