More multiple editor lossage: the "boomerang effect"

In ZWEI in Release 5.0 [Beta Test rev 7], FEP 18, on [LM] Jimi Hendrix (3600):

When there are several editors on the screen and one is in the middle of doing
an Incremental Search (c-S), it is impossible to select another editor with
the mouse.  The characters that should be going to the just-selected editor
are actually still being snarfed by the other editor.  While you type printing
characters, the search continues, but when you type a control character, the
other window automatically selects itself!  I dub this the "boomerang effect."
