I tend to agree with Moon on this. This proposal is a band-aid in an
area where substantial work is needed. Patching up the pathname stuff
is probably harmless, but doesn't make much sense as long as Provide and
Require themselves are so ill-defined. This mechanism needs serious
work as part of a comprehensive cleanup of compilation-environment and
time-of-evaluation issues.
