Comment: Accepted (14 to 4), with amendments to allow any field to be
:UNSPECIFIC including host and name, and to say that "To use
:UNSPECIFIC in an operating system for which it does not make
sense, the results are undefined."
----- Moon 21-Jan-89 -----
RWK pointed out that :UNSPECIFIC has two meanings: the component
is omitted in this particular pathname (type in Unix) or the
component is not meaningful for this system (version in Unix).
Cross-host defaulting needs to treat those differently, so
:UNSPECIFIC can't get into a field where it is not allowed.
In the end RWK suggested people should vote for the proposal
anyway, as it was a net improvement.
