0.9 had the direct superclasses list backwards which is causing your bug (not a feature). We found that a while ago and I thought we patched it. I will double check the sources and the patches, and make another patch if necessary. Actually, I was the one that made 0.9.69 on 29Mar91 that includes this fix.
