    What's the correct way to change the default-text-style for the command
    menu pane? This is so I can handle resizing appropriately!

CLIM 2.0 on what platform?  Allegro, right?

Do you mean a CLIM 1.1-style command menu pane, or do you mean a menu
bar automagically supplied by the frame manager?  Since the menu bar
is supplied automagically by the host window system toolkit, it's not
always going to be completely under your control.  If you are talking
about a CLIM 1.1-style command menu pane, just use the :TEXT-STYLE
pane option when creating the pane.
