repeating last post due to mail server failure

due to a mail server failure, i am not sure if this was posted to the
list so i am reposting it.

my question is regarding signals and how i can use SIGUSR1 in clisp
to break out of a read.  can i trap that signal within clisp or do i
have to go out to a c function to do it.  also is it possible to
hold signals within clisp.
