On page 2-43 of the 88-002 draft, the documentation for DEFMETHOD says
that each of the specialized parameters will be referred to by
DEFMETHOD's expansion. I wondered what the motivation for this was. Is
it that each of those parameters was used to find the applicable
methods, and so are "used", even if the method doesn't explicitly
refer to them?
I know this was discussed before, but I'm not sure the motivation was ever
made explicit.
