new pcl

Not sure whether this is a repeat, sorry if so...

I tried compiling the new PCL on ares Wed. nite with no luck, it complains
for quite awhile then finally dies loading a file with something or other
undefined.  Since then I've seen several patches from Gregor, which he has
assembled them into a "new" version.  As all this has happened in a matter
of days, I suggest we wait until most of the *major* bugs have been shaken
from the latest 'n' greatest PCL before beginning to use it here.  We
should probably wait at least until the complaints are about *using* the
new version and not trying to get it running.
