how fast is T?

Jonathan Rees has challenged me to find the factor-of-40 in print, or
in electrons, and I have failed to find it.  I apologize to both Jonathan,
and anyone else who felt I had accused him/her of outrageous claims.

I believe that Jonathan and I agree that there was, in an initial draft
of  one paper, an unsupported claim of "favorable" speed comparison,
but which (so far as I can tell) was removed by the authors.
