This thread should probably be re-named to 'Eval - Pro's and Con's'

If people _use_ eval, then [practically] the whole development environment
must be included.  If they don't, however, it shouldn't be.  This is a
job for a specialized linker, IMHO.  I think leaving eval out of the spec
was an error, since only those who use it must pay the price...
