displaying colored picts question

I am trying to display a 256 color pict that has its own custom palette
(i.e. does not use system colors).  When I display it using draw-picture
the colors are somewhat wrong.  When I was displaying it with SuperEdit
I could fix this by having the Supercard window use the colors of the pict
rather than the default colors.  Anyone have any idea of how I can do this
in Lisp?
