Mail Madness: can we get a newsgroup or something?

Hi,

  Since I joined this mail-group, I've been snowed under by 15 or so
emails a day. Since I log in only every 4 days, this means that my
normal mail is lost in the heap.

  Would'nt a newsgroup be more convenient - a place we can go and see
MACL stuff when we want to see MACL stuff, leaving email for more
personal concerns. Does anyone know how to set up a newsgroup, or has
someone already tried? Or is it a silly idea.
