Setting cell content

Is there a function that allows you to set the contents of a cell
in a TABLE-DIALOG-ITEM? I see CELL-CONTENTS but not (SETF CELL-CONTENTS)
or SET-CELL-CONTENTS. 

I'm creating a rudimentary spreadsheet, but those cells with no
contents give me an emtpy feeling.
