Information about file-write-date not updated

In MCL 2.0b1p3, after a compile-file I noticed that the
file-write-date of the output-file was unchanged, when looking at the
folder using the Finder, although MCL's file-write-date function would
get the correct value.

Only after getting Information about the output file in the Finder,
would the correct file-write-date be displayed in the finder.

I use system 7.

Is there a fix for this?
