equality of two objects, how ?

Does a function testing the egality (not identity) of two object exist ?

It should return true if the two objects belong to the same class and that
same slot has the same value it should be enough, I think !)

Should I write this method (of standard-object or standard-class ?)
 (how to do this generically) ? Or is it provided ?
