With regard to my previous message, Connectix, the makers of
Maxima, claimed that if one runs iunder FINDER, an application
should be able to use the full 14M (less system space)
but under Multifinder, one can only allocatecontiguous memory,
limiting one to 8M less the system space, or about 6.5M.
However, I seem to recall an earlier discussion wherer it
was claimed that MACL (1.3.X) was inherently limited to 8M.
What's the true story?
