Preserving Finder related Infos

Hi everyone,

  I want to be able to copy files and directories while
  preserving Finder related infos such as the position on
  screen, the familly, the invisibility bit, etc...

  If any one can put me on the right track, it will save
  me from lots of browsing through Inside Macintosh!

BTW: MCL's copy-file function does not preserve the
     Finder related infos.
