Dynamic Change of Mouse Tracking Speed

I am dealing with the visual representation of complex data structures.
I like to experiment with the Mouse Tracking Speed to make it easier
for users to track on important information: "soft snapping".

Is there some simple way to change the mouse tracking speed from MCL?
What I need is a function allowing me to adjust mouse tracking to
speeds like the ones avaivable in the MOUSE CDEV (very slow, ..,
fast).

Any ideas, clues?
