editing text files in MCL

is there a latex mode for MCL?
or even a text mode  for MCL?
reparse the modeline that says:
proclaims the mode to be TEXT,
LATEX, TEXINFO   etc doesn't
change the MCL indentation predilections...
which is what i'd like to to when
editing latex files  (some context -
i like to edit everything in MCL
buffers because i've customized the keyboard
for various fred commands).
