Is there any such thing as an MCL wish-list?
As a neophyte user, I am confused that such an amazing language does not
get more play.
I know about speed/RAM concerns, but with the Power Mac 5200/75 LC with 8mb
RAM as the entry-level Mac, um, I think MCL can keep up quite nicely, thank
you.
I expect over time that will draw more interest in MCL, but to *keep* that
interest and win converts, certain steps are in order.
I won't go into details until after I see what 3.0 brings, but the thrust
of it will be that Digitool is going to have to fill in those things that
currently require newcomers to "roll their own". It is indisputably awesome
that we *can* modify the environment to suit our own styles, but that does
not mean the default environment i see upon breaking the shrink-wrap cannot
itself be warm, fuzzy and wonderful to welcome newcomers.
Source debugging would be lovely, too.
BTW, i note that the 3.0 flyer says the development environment *has* been
enhanced. Can we have more details?
Well, time to go tend my little lambdas...
