An Emacs macro to help make the change from / to \ will probably be provided.
There will be ample time and I am sure that I or others can help you translate
code if/when the "\" proposal is adopted. I wish you hadn't jumped the gun and
sent such a message to *ITS. Changes so sweeping will be sent to *ITS for
approval as well, as was the case with the *CATCH/CATCH proposal a while back,
and I don't think it was fair of you to imply that such a change was going to
be made without talking to other people. -kmp
