Modem help!

Is there anyone who has any knowledge of the operation of a Bell
Dataphone 212A?  Specifically:

  1) How to interface it to a phone line?  It has two RS232 type
     connectors on the back.  One is the line to the terminal, does the
     other go to the phone line somehow?

  2) What are the functions of the fron panel buttons?

  3) Is this modem autodial?

Any information or leads will be greatly appreciated.
