I am looking for a tool to define tcp servers and clients on unix boxes from lisp.
Basically a subset of the symbolics define-server protocol would be nifty.
The network aspect of Common Lisp is not as fleshed out as it could
be. If there were a good define-server out there I could make it part
of the public CL extensions that we are putting together.

You should take a look at ILA-NFS and its RPC capability.
May not apply to ALL Unix boxes though, :).
