Mixing video & RGB signals

We are trying find out the best way to overlay Symbolics low
resolution color graphics with videodisc images.  We want to
be able to show graphics only, videodisc only, and
graphics / videodisc combinations.  

Is anyone  else currently  doing this  type of  thing?  What
state-of-the-art off-the-shelf hardware is available for
this purpose?  Is there any way to accomplish this with the
CHROMA-KEY software?
