Window and Standard I/O Stream

Dear Sluggers,

I have a question on window and standard I/O stream.

When I create a new window (tv:window) with its own process
(tv:process-mixin) in Genera 7.1, the standard I/O stream
(*standard-input/output*, *terminal-io*) of the process seems to be
bound to the BACKGROUND stream, not the window itself.

Is this the default?  Is there any way to change the behaviour other
than that I bind those global variables to the window or explicitly
direct the I/O to the window?
