This discussion has reached the point of collapsing in on itself, like
a black hole.  It is kind of silly to argue about the virtues of
network code with anecdotal evidence. (Besides, the doubly-quoted
messages no longer fit on most people's windows.)  I readily concede
that my original comment was flippant, but I think that there is a
grain of truth behind it that you both are aware of.

Let's get back to the original discussion of memory costs and sizes.
