Invisible Translations and Genera 7.1 (Query)

Does anyone know how to define "invisible translations" (for example
that xg: equates to HOST:STR:<SOME-DIRECTORY> (on a DEC-20), or
whatever.  Under release 6.1 there was this nice package called
invisible-translation.lisp which would do just what I require.  Short of
converting the package above to Genera 7.1, is there any 7.1 functions
that may be used, or is the invisible-translation library available for
G-7.1.  Many thanks.
