DAP server problem in DNA 3.1

Subject: DAP server problem in DNA 3.1

There is a known bug in the DAP server in DNA 3.1 (see Genera 7.1 patch
notes p.65). A remote host cannot write a file to a Symbolics Computer.
While this may be fixed in a future release, it is inconvenient for us
because the main reason for us to use DNA is to write files over the net.

Since the bug seems to be rather trivial (first argument of = is NIL), it
should be easy to fix. However, we don't have the source. Does anybody
out there know a way to get around it or temporarily patch it?
