Postcript to Macdraw and back (once more)
To sluggers:
Sorry about an earilier mail. Somehow the text I entered was removed (actually
I know why, but here it is):
RE: Postcript to MacDraw
THERE ARE PROGRAMS THAT WILL READ ENCAPSULATED POSTCRIPT FILES (EPSF) AND
DISPLAY IT (SEE ARTICLES IN MACUSER 'AUG OR SEPT '88). ONCE IT IS ON THE SCREEN
YOU CAN PUT INTO PICT FORMAT. THE CATCH HERE IS THAT THERE MUST BE A LOW
RESOLUTION BITMAP EMBEDDED WITH THE FILE (THAT'S HOW PAGEMAKER DISPLAYS THE
PICTURES IN ITS DOCUMENTS). THERE MAY BE A PROGRAM THAT WILL CONVERT PURE
POSTCRIPT TO MACDRAW OR MACPAINT, BUT I DON'T KNOW ABOUT IT. THEORETICALLY, IT
IS NOT HARD TO ENVISION SOMEONE WRITING IT.
AS FOR MACDRAW TO POSTCRIPT, THE CLOVERLEAF (OTHERWISE KNOWN AS COMMAND) F
STILL WORKS ON MAC II. YOU JUST HAVE TO TURN OFF THE BACKGROUND PRINTING AND BE
QUICK WITH YOUR HANDS.
