SL/IP

    Does anyone know whether a Symbolics machine supports (or can easily
    support) talking SL/IP over its serial port.  I want to dial in to a
    terminal server (an Annex) and use SL/IP to communicate.

Symbolics currently does not support SLIP but if you work around the problems
of dialing the phone and creating a network interface for an async serial
port, it is relatively easy to hook up to the Generic Network System.  Take a
look at the the Serial Networks code in 7.2 to see how a sync interface is
added (using a slightly more complicated protocol than SLIP).
