:set site over subnet w/o chaos?
I got a number of replies to my last request. Thanks for the help. The
most common suggestion was to create a world on the server side of the
gateway and then move it over. This works, and is probably the
simplest.
However, I used a variant of this succesfully (because I didn't want to
travel back and forth). I created a temporary local namespace on the
machine, restored IP-TCP to the local disk from tape and loaded it,
informed the local namespace of a machine with a site configured world
on the other subnet, and then copied the machine configured world via
tcp-ip to the local-disk. Then I just booted from this new world. [Of
course, all the namespaces have to be set up properly, but isn't that
hard.]
