^X-A bug, no doubt fixed in some patch which hasn't managed to fly through the air down up vassar street yet

In zwei in Release 4.3, site configuration 28,
Educational Computing Group, on Lisp Machine Twenty:

I did ^X-A (Append to Buffer), and gave a new buffer name. A few
moments later, I did ^X-B FOO, where the buffer FOO didn't exist,
either. It left me in the buffer with the appended text in it.

Furthermore, any subsequent ^X-B requests for new buffers return to that
same buffer, and give it a new name. The lossage goes away if you kill
the wedged buffer.
